I might make it a goal later on to try and draw all (or at least, most) donkey kong characters and enemies. I'll see how it goes.

Here's a sketch of mine from a couple of years ago:
A sketch inspired by DKC's temples (49.35 KB)Originally that lizard crawling out of the crack in the urn was to be a Klaptrap, but I ended up taking a simpler approach.
I've always liked the look of DKC's temples... I like the look of most real-world ruins, too. I think it must be something to do with nature's way of gradually resculpting things. Even the most unnatural looking structures will be brought back to an organic form eventually.

That is really awesome! I never have enough time to put so much effort into all the shading and such, but that looks amazing!
I too like the look of temples, I always wanted to have a DKC temple in the middle of the Jungle. Like an Aztec or Mayan pyramid, it could be part Jungle level, and then be in the temples (with plenty of vines and other vegetation), and then go into the pyramids and be dark, only lit up by the dim glow of torches.

I actually do have a few others... One I'd like to share, but it's unfinished... I'd post it, but Dixie looks positively horrid as I didn't get far with drawing her in. I might post that one later, but here's a sketch I did of Lockjaw & Snapjaw's even more brutal cousin:

Hehe, nice job. Texturing looks great.
I'll have to redo another lockjaw later methinks.... I don't think the first one I did was too good. :/

Yeah, he could be a boss or something, and he'd swim around trying to eat you and then snapjaw's would come out and attack you. Very nice texturing.

I was thinking you could be on a dock or rigging and he could jump out like a Cheap Cheap.

Yeah, that would work too. He could be underneath the dock, and when he jumps out you have to throw a TNT barrel at him. Then Lockjaws would jump out of the water and you'd have to dodge them. And every time he gets hurt he breaks parts of the dock, so you'd have to jump between thin segments of the dock without falling in the water while trying to dodge Lockjaws. Sounds awesome.

This particular artist offered various different styles to choose from, each with a different price, the lowest being $5. I picked the most expensive, which in this case is $20. Your mileage varies considerably for different artists. I'll be commissioning another artist soon.

Damn, I just realized I don't have any DKC pics. Next week I'll try to get my talent in drawing Nintendo figures back.
For me it is easier to duplicate comic-like artwork than those DKC renders.
