I'm trying to dump a video, but it says MENCODER and LAME are missing. Has anyone used this before and could help me?

MENCODER is the program it uses to convert audio formats. Did you download that already?

OK, I got it to work now. But where does the file go?

In the same directory as the ZSNES program.

Haha, I had a lot of trouble setting that MEncoder thing up. You should be glad I gave you that along with with ZSNES.

When you dump a movie, it appears in the directory which ZSNES is in.
AFAIK, not every option works, Try XVid Lossless with merged audio

If Simion wasn't as knowledgeable as he is, I'd link you to the ZSNES board's video dumping guide.

I think the file should be called merged.avi if you dump video/audio together. Might be different if you just dump video (maybe video.avi or movie.avi?), I don't remember...

Hey, I've gotta set up mEncoder on this new computer, so I'll refresh my memory in the process. Hopefully then I can help a bit more efficiently if you still need it - or perhaps I'll be the one having difficulties, and you can come to my rescue.

I use SNES9x and it works fine.

I downloaded MEncoder and put it in the same folder as the ZSNES app but it says "MEncoder not found" when I try to start dumping it. Help?

I had a lot of trouble getting that to work.

EDIT: Although, I really don't know what is wrong with it. CFH had the same problem.
EDIT2: It may be related to having the wrong version of MEncoder.

I just got it to work. For some reason, you can't dump it in "XVID LOSSLESS" or "X264 LOSSLESS" so I dumped it in Raw Video. It dumped it as a BIN file. Now what?

You should be able to dump as XVID Lossless with merged audio. It works on mine, anyway. And make sure you're using a non-wip version of ZSNES (version 1.51, that is).

I don't know what to do with a .bin video... i think your zmovie.cfg file might be screwed up.

If you plan on putting the videos on YouTube, then you should use XVID.

Hey, is there a vfw2menc.exe in your ZSNES folder?

I do plan on putting them on Youtube, but they'll be a .wmv by the time I upload them (Meaning I'm gonna run it through Windows Movie Maker)

EDIT: No, the mencoder file is called "mencoderrc077.sit"
