DKC Atlas Forum

Somewhat of an odd question, but I was curious if anyone here has played through DKC2's hard mode. I just started a run with it on, and it's not too bad. Already at Krem Quay, and only lost about 3 lives (two deaths due to Glimmer's Galleon oddly enough).

You mean without the DK Barrels? All the time.

Yep. Not too bad, but that's probably because of years of playtime with the game.

My favorite part of it was having your buddy return everytime you exited a bonus or a level.

I always just decided to skip the DK barrels whenever I picked up the game again and during speed runs of course.

I just beat the game on hardmode including the Lost World Boss. However I only have 100% instead of the 102% you'd usually get on a normal playthrough. is that normal?

Visiting the Kong Helpers actually accounts for some of the percent. That's probably what you're missing if you have all the DK Coins and Kremcoins.

I should really try it. After all these years I've never even given the hardmode option a shot.

Honestly, I think Animal Antics is one of the reasons I've never tried it. Too much fear.

I can understand that! I hardly ever make it through that level in one piece...

Klobber Karnage can be a nightmare, too.

I'm due for another BARRALAX playthrough... can't remember when I last did this!

You know, I think hard mode is preventing me from playing the actual game. Everytime I try to play DKC2 with BARRALAX on, my game glitches and the screen turns black. Of course, this problem is probably related more to my SNES console than some cheat code.
