While looking at sprites on the Spriters Resource I found some sprites for the GBA port of DKC2 of some guy called Kerozone (see attachment). Who exactly is he, and when is he fought or whatever?
Remember how Stronghold Showdown had no boss? Well Rare put a giant fire-breathing Demonic Kremling as the boss. I bet he was just a regular Kritter who ended up in the KPS.
No... he didn't. 4 flying Kleever's showed up at the beginning, you hit them with cannonballs; after that he starts firing fire through his mouth and all you do is hit his face with a cannonball, then he hits the floor and the pattern repeats whatever times. At the end he rises up and you must be standing in his arms to evit getting burn, and hit him with a cannonball. Much like a combination between Kleever and Kudgel.
Ah, but you will remember that Kerozene held one Kleever while one of them flew buy. It happens twice in the battle though. And I still believe Kerozene is the result of an idiot Kritter jumping into the KPS. Kerozene might actually be the Fire Hand that held Kleever in Krockodile Kauldron.
Oh, I see now... xD he only holds them 1 second =P Kerozene being in Crocodile Cauldron makes pretty much sense; he breaths fire so he is inmune to heat temperatures.
I thought the inclusion of Kerozene added to the overall quality of the port. Something new being thrown in that was also a pretty big challenge was great.
I found this guy to be a good challenge. I mean I was expecting that scene from the SNES version to show up, but then K. Rool appears and all hell breaks loose.
For everyone saying Kerezone has nothing to do with the game, look at Kleevers sprite sheet on the Spriters Resource. They say KEREZONES HAND! ever really think that? I think that is so true. Kleever is being held by Kerezone. It is his weapon in the battle after all.
I didn't have all that much trouble with this boss. Maybe 5 lives to figure out his attack pattern. It was very unpredictable at first. I can't say Kerozene was my favorite boss, but I didn't hate him either. I guess I'm neutral. It was cool of the devs to add something new to the game, but I wish it was something a bit more substantial, like DKC3 Pacifica.
I though I was going to battle K.Rool right then and there, but then Kerezone just came up! Super Luigi, it did seem kid of dreamy getting a bit of a challenge for a level with nothing on the SNES!
